Lauren Imbriani is a Family Nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric care. Lauren attended Ramapo College of New Jersey where she received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She went on to work as a cardiothoracic ICU nurse for five years, gaining experience at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, as well as St. Michaels Medical Center in Newark. Lauren ultimately returned to Ramapo College where she earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing and went on to obtain her license as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Lauren worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine before following her passion for psychiatric medicine. Throughout her experience, Lauren found that at the center of all healthcare sits the health of the mind. In order for patients to care for any part of themselves, they must first feel mentally able and motivated to do so. Lauren has found that having a foundation in the general practice of medicine aids in her ability to treat both the mind and the body; and to deliver well-rounded care to her patients.
Lauren believes one of the most important aspects of her role as a practitioner is to first be an advocate for her patients; and to fully understand their needs and expectations for their care. In doing so, Lauren works collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement the necessary treatment plans for patients with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. Lauren is skilled in her ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, binge eating disorders, postpartum depression and anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.
