Adolescent Specialty Care
Specialized mental health and behavioral care for teens, and support for the families around them.
The teen years are hard, and help should be too, in the good sense
Adolescence is a whirlwind of physical changes, big emotions, and a push for independence, and sometimes teens need more than routine care to navigate it. Anxiety, depression, focus struggles, and behavioral challenges are common, and they respond well to specialized support.
At North Jersey Health & Wellness, our adolescent specialty care meets teens with understanding, and supports the whole family, so young people get the help they need without feeling singled out.
What adolescent specialty care helps with
We support teens facing a range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and low mood
- Focus and attention struggles, including ADHD
- Behavioral challenges
- Social and peer difficulties
- Stress at school or home
- Sleep problems
- Big emotions that feel hard to manage
When a teen needs both medical and mental health support, we provide it together, and we bring families into the process in a way that helps.
If your teen is in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, you do not have to wait for an appointment. Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time, day or night.
How we support teens and families
Care is built around the young person and the people around them:
- A thoughtful evaluation that puts teens at ease
- Therapy tailored to adolescents
- Careful medication management when it is appropriate
- Guidance and support for parents
- Coordination with schools and primary care
Adolescent specialty care at North Jersey Health & Wellness
We wrap support around the whole family:
- An evaluation designed to feel safe for teens
- Therapy and, when needed, medication management suited to adolescents
- Care for anxiety, depression, and ADHD
- Real support and guidance for parents
- Coordination with school and primary care
Because a teen’s medical and mental health care live under one roof here, families are not left stitching together support from separate offices.

Adolescent specialty care: common questions
What is adolescent specialty care?
Adolescent specialty care is focused mental health and behavioral care for teens, addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. It is tailored to adolescents and includes support for families.
How do I know if my teen needs more than primary care?
If your teen is struggling with persistent anxiety, low mood, focus problems, behavioral changes, or difficulty coping, specialty care can help. When in doubt, an evaluation can clarify what kind of support fits.
Will you involve me as a parent?
Yes. We support parents and bring families into the process in a way that helps the teen, while still giving young people the trusting space they need to open up.
Do you treat ADHD and anxiety in teens?
Yes. We provide specialized care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other challenges common in adolescence, with therapy and, when appropriate, carefully managed medication.
My teen is nervous about coming in. How do you handle that?
We design evaluations to feel safe and non-judgmental, meeting teens where they are. Many nervous teens feel much more comfortable once they see that this is a supportive, not clinical-feeling, space.
Does insurance cover adolescent specialty care?
Most major insurance plans cover adolescent mental health care. North Jersey Health & Wellness accepts most major plans. If you are unsure about your coverage, call (201) 588-3491.
